Ministry Of Education

The Ministry of Education (MoE) handles all stages of education in the UAE.  MoE aims to prepare a human workforce that effectively contributes to accomplishing sustainable development while being globally competitive. It supervises both public and private schools in UAE. While it does not direct the private schools and curriculum (with the exception of Arabic, social studies and Islamic studies), they set overall guidelines that the private schools must adhere to.

Sharjah Private Education Authority

In November 2018, the Government of Sharjah issued the Emiri Decree No. 45 of 2018 to establish Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), which is affiliated to Sharjah Government and enjoys a legal personality and full capacity to achieve its objectives.

Emirates American School is licensed under the Regulatory Authority SPEA for K-12 education in UAE. The learning outcomes and performance of the school is regularly inspected by SPEA appointed International Inspectorate to ensure the quality of education. The school runs a K – 12 American Education Curriculum and the School Diploma is approved, attested and equalised by the Ministry of Education, UAE.
